Mr. Charles Edward King
A native of Alamance County, he was retired from Holiday Inn and a member of People's Memorial Church.
Survivors include daughter, Deborah King Popham and husband Richard of Burlington; son Timothy Edward King and wife Vickie of Burlington; grandchildren, Andrew King and wife Jessica, Christopher Popham and wife Juanita, Timothy Popham and wife Elizabeth, Richard C. Popham Jr. and Annie Kiss; great-grandchildren, Victoria Kiss and Christian Popham; brothers, the Rev. Clyde "Bo" King and wife Ella Mae of Haw River, the Rev. David King and wife Frances of Mebane and Douglas King and wife Pat of Burlington; and sister, Janet Hughes and husband John of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Rainey King; parents, Luther King and Pearl Johnson King; and stepgrandson, Chuck Smithey.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 at the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum by the Rev. Clyde "Bo" King and the Rev. Uston McKenzie. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the mausoleum. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
