Shirley Mae Hurlocker

GRAHAM - Shirley Mae Norris Hurlocker, 75, of 1724 Petty Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of New Hanover County, N.C., she was retired from Huffman Oil Company and was a member of the Baptist Temple of Alamance County.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Richard Lee and Kathy Hurlocker of Graham; daughter and son-in-law, Tanya Dawn and Rodney Smith of Graham; grandchildren, Michael Hurlocker, Joseph Hurlocker, Matthew Hurlocker, Brian Hurlocker, Taylor McVey, Zoey Smith and Abbigale Hurlocker; great-grandchildren, Carrie Jo Hurlocker, Kennedy Erin Wade and Isley Belle Hurlocker; sister, Ruby Copeland of Mebane; and brother, James Delbert Norris of Graham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Roosevelt Hurlocker; son, W. Michael Hurlocker; sister, Audrey Braxton; and brothers, Colon L. Norris and Talmadge Lee Norris.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday and at other times at the residence.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Baptist Temple of Alamance County by Dr. Donald Carter and the Rev. David Carter. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

  Sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. She and my sister were friends and neighbors. I enjoyed being around Shirley. She had a great outgoing personality. I live in Virginia, so when I would visit Ruby we would stop by the Texaco and visit with her. I know her children will miss her. She loved Richard and Tonya very much. Didn't get to the service, but Ruby and I visited the cemetary this pass  Saturday. Will keep Shirley's family in my prayers.
