Charles W. Jones

Charles Wesley Jones, 82 went to his eternal rest on December 9, 2018 in Graham, after several months of failing health. He never met a Stanger and never lost his sense of wonder. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Charles mostly enjoyed being with family and friends.

A native of Graham but had lived all over the world after he graduated from Eli Whitney class of 54 and DeVry University and began his career with Western Electric. For forty plus years he owned and operated Jones Service and Home Service Specialist, retiring in 2003.

Charles is survived by his wife Mary Eller Jones of 15 years; son Richard (Teresa Striblin) Jones; granddaughter Mia Jones, seven step grandchildren; sister Brenda (Glenn) Goodpasture of Fredericksburg, VA; sister –in-law Linda D. Jones of Graham. Charles will also be forever remembered by many Nieces, Nephews, extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents David Earl Jones and Eula Johnson Jones; his first wife of 45 years Carol D. Jones; Brothers, H. Curtis Jones, F. Wallace Jones; Sister-in-law Mary Alice Neal Jones.  

A celebration of life service will be held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church on Saturday December 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Brian Biggers and David Crowther officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time prior at the Church. At other times, the family will be at the old home place in Graham.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell for the Hospice Home, 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215 or to the Living Free Ministries (Mary’s House) at 1230 Walnut Grove Lane, Snow Camp, NC 27349.
