Mrs. Clara Cook Johnson, 87, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Wednesday December 26, 2018 at White Oak Manor in Burlington. A native of Chatham County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Fred A. and Ida Barker Cook. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was a member of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Sunday School Class and she always enjoyed her trips with her friends and Church family. In her younger days, she and her husband enjoyed fishing, taking family tips to the beach and she was known for being a great cook which her family and friends always enjoyed. She was retired from Texfi Industries in Swepsonville. Survivors include her sons, Donald Wayne Johnson and wife Stella, of Haw River and Ronald C. Johnson, of Burlington; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Johnson and a nephew, Nathan Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wynn Johnson; a son, Dennis A. Johnson; great grandchildren, Addison and Kelby, and her sister, Estelle C. Johnson. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday December 31, 2018 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Don Pegg officiating. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 PM on Sunday at McClure in Graham, and other times at the residence of the family.
