Curtis Desmond Foushee, 82, of Burlington passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his residence. Curtis was born in Orange County to Rainey and Mary Wright Foushee both deceased. He was retired from Lucent Technology and was a lifelong member of Carr United Methodist Church. Curtis also served his country in the US Army and served his community through the Pleasant Grove Fire Department for 37 years.
Curtis is survived by: his wife, Lilly Walters Foushee of the home. Daughter, Diane Williams (Tony Barber) of Haw River. Son, Curtis Desmond “Desie” Foushee, Jr. (Dana Isley Foushee) of Anderson, SC. Grandchildren: Maria Canterbury (Jason), Allison Foushee, Jordan Foushee (Anna), Calyn Foushee. Great Grandchildren: Jack Canterbury and Kate Canterbury.
Brother: Rainey Warren Foushee of Mebane.
In addition to his parents Curtis was preceded in death by his brother James Foushee.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Carr United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Ronnie Byrd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service.
The Pleasant Grove Fire Department will be honorary pallbearers and the Cedar Grove Fire Department will be parking cars.
