Darrell Bare, 76, of Graham, died Sunday, February 10, 2019. He was a native of Alamance County, retired Owner and Operator of City Barber Shop in Graham and a member of Saxapahaw United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Earl Bowman & Edith Jones Bare and was preceded in death by an infant brother, Demaree Bare.
Darrell enjoyed meeting and working with people. He owned and operated Burlington Lanes Barber Shop at the Burlington Lanes Bowling Alley on Vaughn Road as well as working at Downtown Barber Shop in Burlington. He also spent time in the farming industry selling tractors and farm implements for Graham Tractor Company and later managing the Ford Tractor Dealership in Siler City.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Stanford Bare of the home; daughters Lynn Bare of Graham and Debra Bare of the home: grandchildren Jonathan Hester and Lexie Hester, both of Graham; brother, Wayne Bare and wife Anita of Garner; sisters, Marie Zachary and husband Winder of Pittsboro, Brenda Zachary and Bill of Pittsboro; several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate his life will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Saxapahaw United Methodist Church by Pastor Sue Eldon. Burial will follow in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham 6:00-8:00 Tuesday night, other times at the residence.
