Frank Puckett "Mac" McDade Jr.

Frank Puckett “Mac” McDade, Jr., passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019. He was born to the late Frank Puckett McDade, Sr. and Kathrine Nicks McDade on 9/29/44.Mr. McDade is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Phyllis Pope McDade; son, Reggie McDade; daughter, Cheryl McDade; and son, Channing Puckett McDade, (Carolyn); grandchildren Alexis McDade, (fiancé Brian), Dakota Puckett McDade, Morgan Eubanks, (Kyle), and Dillon McDade; sister, Jo McDade Westbrook, (Kenneth); and nephew, Russell Westbrook, (Lisa). Many loving cousins and friends.Mac was a devoted son, husband, and father.  He was a longtime employee of Burroughs Wellcome. He loved genealogy and was a wonderful photographer.  He also loved growing roses and running his Beagle dogs.  Most of all, he loved to travel with his wife, Phyllis.He graduated from N.C. State University (‘63).  He worked at the USDA Forestry Dept., Waynesville, NC, the Baptist Children’s Home Orphanage in Kinston, NC, he was a trainer of show horses for Sitting Rock Farms, Madison, NC, trained show horses for McDade Plantation, Cedar Grove, NC and was a tobacco farmer.  He worked in pharmaceutical companies as a manager of warehouse distribution, and was employed by Kuehne & Nagel as distribution manager.  He also managed the storage and shipment of GlaxoSmithKline Rx products, and was employed by Kenco Logistics where he was manager of GSK Rx.In the past he served on the administrative board as Finance Chairman for the church and was a trusteVisitation will be at the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church, Cedar Grove, NC. 12:00 pm to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 3/27/19. The service will be held at 2:00 pm following the visitation.  Flowers are welcome and memorial donations may be sent for Cedar Grove United Methodist Church to Deborah Pope.  Also memorials can be made to Hospice of Alamance, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.Online condolences may be sent at www.mcclurefuneralservice.net
