Hallie Burch

Mrs. Hallie Barnwell Burch, 98, of Prospect Hill entered her heavenly home on Saturday, December 22, 2018 surrounded by her family. A native of Caswell County, she was born July 30, 1920 to the late Phillip and Cornelia Barnwell and was the wife of 62 years to the late Clarence “Buck” Burch.

Ms. Hallie was blessed with great health and lived a long and wonderful life. She was a remarkable wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother “Grandma Doodlebug”. She was the Matriarch of her family and brought so much joy to everyone she met. She had the purest heart and loved her family greatly. 

She is survived by two sons, Phillip Burch (Jane) of Roxboro and Michael Burch (Cornelia) of Mebane; five grandchildren, Paige Burch Allison (Billy), Allen Burch (Kim), Michael Burch, Jr. (Katie), Kristina Burch Walker (Jonathan) and Wendy Burch McElfresh (Terry); 10 Great Grandchildren who were her pride and joy and blessed her with the name “Grandma Doodlebug”, Landon Allison, Ainsley Burch, Brittan Allison, Aiden Walker, Brynn Burch, Nathan Walker, Asher McElfresh, Easton Burch, Declan Burch and Baby Boy Burch (due in April); and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Nannie Horton, Edna Oakley, Frances Barnwell, and Bertha Cobb and one brother, Franklin Barnwell.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 1:00 p.m.to 2:00 p.m. at McClure Funeral Home, Mebane NC.  A graveside service will follow at Cooper Cemetery, Prospect Hill, NC. The family will also welcome friends following the graveside service at the family farmhouse in Prospect Hill, NC. Other times, the family will be at the home of her son Michael Burch, Mebane, NC.
