Helen Warren Brown, age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Hospice Home in Burlington, NC. She was surrounded by the caring Hospice Home staff, family, and friends during her final days here on Earth. Helen was a native of Alamance County and preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Brown and her parents, Ervin and Lillie Warren. She is survived by her son, Jimmy Brown of Snow Camp, granddaughters, HelenAnn Brown, Lauren Langley and husband, Ryan Langley, and great granddaughter, Payton Langley. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Ezzell of Graham and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She graduated from Burlington High School in 1945 and later went on to work in hosiery and at Belk Department Store. Helen was a member of Snow Camp Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Mebane. She was a devout Christian that enjoyed singing in the choir and helping others. She volunteered through the Alamance Regional Medical Center Auxiliary for many years as a “Pink Lady.” Helen also loved to travel, cook, and tend her garden. She loved her family and friends and could often be found spending time with them.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at McClure Funeral Service in Graham. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
