Lucille King Bradley, 90, of 301 Nth 6th Street, Mebane, died peacefully Thursday March 28th, 2019 at her home.
A native of Morganton and raised in Burlington, NC, Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Roy Bradley. After marriage, Lucille worked a few years in the hosiery business, but after having children she elected to stay home and raise her four boys. This was quite a task since her husband Roy was an over the road truck driver and gone a lot of the time. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mebane, where she made sure each of the boys were every Sunday morning even in the absence of their Dad who was traveling. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the choir in her early years, often being asked to sing at weddings. She loved the Christmas season, and in her last year her Christmas tree was left decorated for her to enjoy. She was a loving caregiver for her parents and her husband in their declining health, and served as a role model for her boys who would in turn have to care for her. She was an excellent mother, raising four boys, an excellent Grandma with ten grandchildren, and a loving Great Grandma with nine great grandkids.
Survivors include her sister, Patricia Madren; a brother, Hardison King; her four sons James Alan Bradley and wife Regina, Timothy Lynn Bradley and wife Vickie, Joel Craig Bradley and wife Jane, and Michael Todd Bradley and wife Charlotte; her ten grandchildren, Jennifer Bradley Livers and husband Ryan, Jeremy Wilson Bradley, Allison Bradley Thomas and husband Jeremy, Stacey Bradley Vaux and husband Nick, Caroline Bradley Cornett and husband Christopher, Jessica Dawn Bradley, Abigail Kay Bradley, Anna Wilson Bradley, Macey Nicole Ragans, and Amber Lynn Ragans; her nine great grandchildren Mary Bradley, Vega and Matrim Vaux, Chris, Shane, James, and Grace Cornett, Lilly Livers, Adeline Thomas.
