Mrs. Mary Carson Marshall, 87, of Burlington passed away on Wednesday November 21, 2018 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. A native of Surry Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Anderson and Christine Winebarger Carson. Mary loved to crochet different things from afghans, snowmen, towels or just anything to put a smile on others faces. She and her husband Ulysses would take their trips to the NC Mountains and visit family in Elkin, NC. She also enjoyed the beach and listing to her music with the salty air around her. She was a proud member of New Hope Baptist Church in Burlington. Survivors include her daughter in law, Carolyn Ward Carter, of the home; grandchildren, Boyd McKenzie, of Graham, Nancy Hunble and husband Timothy, Misty Combs, of Elkin and Roger Combs and wife Tory, of TN; sisters, Carol Lovins, of GA and Fran Bunting, of Greensboro; and many loving great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ulysses Harrelson Marshall; daughter, Debbie Benton; son, Edward Carter; step daughter, Linda Sumner and her son in law, Mike Benton. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday November 25, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church in Burlington with the Pastor Randy Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Church on Sunday.
