Ruth Payne Waterson

Mrs. Ruth Payne Waterson, 86, of Burlington, passed away on Saturday November 24, 2018 at Peak Resources of Alamance. A native of Alamance County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Boston and Lena Bivens Payne. For over 30 years Ruth volunteered as a Pink Lady with Alamance County Hospital and Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. She was a member of Cedar Cliff United Methodist Church and she retired from Western Electric/AT&T. Survivors include her son, Joel Williams; step children, Pam Moore and David Waterson; her loving nieces and nephews, Vickie Easter, Dawn Conklin, Jean Barber, Ralph Payne, Elaine Johnson, Tim Moss, Laurie Moss, and April Tanner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alan D. Waterson; a premature son, Barton Williams; sister, Rachel Moss and her brothers, Mitchell and JV Payne. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 28, 2018 at Cedar Cliff UMC with the Pastor Jimmy Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at McClure Funeral Home in Graham.
