Stephen "Steve" Caldwell Forrest III

Stephen C. Forrest III, 76, of 1205 Faye St, Efland, died Oct 8 at Duke Regional Hospital.

Steve was born November 20, 1942, the son of Stephen C. Forrest, Jr. and Ida Niemyer Forrest.  He was predeceased by his parents and his first wife, Betsy Clayton Forrest.  

Steve retired from Sears where he worked in air-conditioning and refrigeration service.  He and his wife, Carolyn, enjoyed several years of living at Lake Gaston, spending time on the pontoon boat, and fishing.  He served as a past-president of the Crappie Fishing Club.  Steve was a member of Fairfield Presbyterian Church.  

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Hughes Forrest, sisters, Betty Hamlin (Tommy) of Caldwell, and Jean Brooks of Hillsborough; brothers Dick Forrest (Betsy) of Hillsborough and David Forrest of Efland; nephews, Jeff Hamlin, Stephen Hamlin and Chris Forrest; Step-daughters, Lisa Henry and Julie Turner.

The family invites you to share a fond recollection at his memorial service, Friday, Oct 11, 3:00, Fairfield Presbyterian Church, Efland.  Visitation will be at the church prior to the service 1:30-2:45.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Fairfield Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Flora Baldwin, 236 Forest Lake Court, Mebane, NC 27302.
