Mrs. Susan Wiard Seman, 77, of Mebane, NC, passed away on July 13, 2019 at the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. She was born in Washington State to the late Robert E. Wiard and Ellen Nyquist Peters. She attended Crossroads Presbyterian Church and has cherished her time there. She loved her cat and all of the animals she has cared for over the years. She and her late husband Fred would go antiquing and sell their finds at the Elephant Trunk Flea market. As a young woman she enjoyed traveling and living around the world with her parents. She was known for taking numerous, time consuming family photos where everyone had to be lined up “Just Right.” Most all she loved her family especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Fitzpatrick and husband Douglas, of Mebane and her son, John Frederick Seman III and wife Virginia, of Connecticut; grandchildren, Ian Tobin, John Frederick Seman IV, Megan Seman and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Frederick Seman Jr.; granddaughter, Ellen Nicole Tobin and her sister Patty Yirka. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday July 20, 2019 at the Crossroads Presbyterian Church with the Pastor Willie Teague officiating. The family will gather in the Church Fellowship Hall following the service. The burial will be held at a later date in Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Paws-4-Ever at 6311 Nicks Rd. Mebane, NC 27302 or to the Ellen Tobin Memorial Fund, which pays for horse riding lessons for children who can’t otherwise afford them.
