William Dawkins Obituary

Mr. William Calvin "W.C." Dawkins, 98 of Burlington, NC passed away on Saturday September 14, 2019 at the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.  He was the son of late Scott and Lillie Greene Dawkins and husband to the late Cora Lee Wright Dawkins.  He was retired from the Orange County Rescue squad as a supervisor.  After retirement he moved to Florida where he spent his time doing what he loved, playing golf and fishing.  He was also a Veteran of the US Army Air Corps where he served as a B-17 waist gunner with over 50 missions  flown in Europe. He was a member of Baptist Temple. Survivors include his daughters; Marie Daniel (Larry), Bonnie Boudreau (Kim) and Patricia "Pat" Harris (Ron).  Grandchildren; Carol Brown, Eric Graham, Renee Spear, Rob Boudreau, Veronica Rush and Tracy Harris, great grandchildren; Taylor, Amy, Emily and Flynn. A brother; Lloyd Dawkins, sister in-law Mildred Dail and several nieces and nephews.  Other than his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Odell, Henry, Clyde and a sister Estelle.  A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday September 17, 2019 in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Mebane officiated by Pastor Don Carter.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at McClure Funeral Service in Mebane.  Burial will follow in the Efland United Methodist Church Cemetery.
