Evelyn Marsters Dechene

Mrs. Evelyn Marsters Dechene, 83, of Graham, NC passed away on Monday, February 07, 2022, at her residence where she resided since 1986 with her loving husband Philip by her side. A native of Milltown, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Marsters. Evelyn met the love of her life, Philip and they wed on June 27, 1959. Together they traveled the United States and enjoyed many adventures. Evelyn was a Girl Scout leader, artist, and enjoyed photography, and a good shopping trip always put a smile on her face. Evelyn was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Evelyn was a volunteer for the Hospice Home and the Navy Relief Program. She was an avid gardener and a breast cancer survivor. Mrs. Dechene was known for being a loving and dedicated Navy wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by Allen Marsters and Brent Marsters.

She is survived by her husband Philip E. Dechene, children, Barbara Hill (William Jr.), Cindy Latimer (Thomas), David Dechene (Sonja), Paul Dechene (Debbie), grandchildren, Jennyffer Menzie, Audrey Weatherwax, William Hill III, Erin Latimer, Madison Dechene, and Justin Bloodworth, and great-grandchildren, Damien and Ashara, and a brother, Ted Marsters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell or The Wounded Warrior Project.
