Jerry Copeland, a cherished family man, avid outdoorsman, and dedicated fan of NASCAR Racing and Carolina Basketball, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on December 23, 1941, Jerry's life was marked by his unwavering work ethic, love for nature, and the joy he found in the simple pleasures of life.
He is survived by his sons, Mike Copeland and his wife Barbara, Mitchell Copeland and his wife Dee; his caring brothers, Eli Copeland and his wife Sue and Keith Copeland; and his dear sister, Janice Oxley and her husband, Harold. Jerry's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jeffery Copeland and his wife Patricia, Ashley Wylie and her husband Don, Katie Stilwell and her husband Joey, Andrew Copeland, Matthew Copeland, and Christopher Copeland, as well as his eleven great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Glenda Copeland, his parents, William and Fairy Mae Copeland, and his sisters, Betty Jane Copeland and Gail Oliphant, Jerry's memory will be honored by all who knew him as a man who deeply loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them. Jerry's passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. He found solace in the tranquility of hunting, the patience of fishing, and the satisfaction of working the land on his tractor. His dedication to hard work was not only evident in his professional life but also in the way he maintained his home and supported his family. The family will receive friends on Sunday May 4, 2025 from 1pm-2pm at McClure Funeral Service in Graham. A Celebration of Jerry’s Life will follow in the McClure Chapel at 2pm on Sunday.
