Odell Briggs Mooney

Mrs. Odell Briggs Mooney, 96, of Haw River, NC, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024, at the Hospice Care Center in Wilmington, NC.

Odell was born on March 2, 1928, in Roxboro, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Zack and Nannie Solomon Briggs. She dedicated over 40 years of her life to the textile industry. From a young age, Odell had a passion for dancing, and despite her declining health, she enjoyed what would be her last dance just a few weeks before her passing. Known for her joyful spirit, Odell loved to joke and laugh with her family and friends. She was a selfless giver who touched many lives.

Her daughter, Terri Little

Her grandsons, David Mooney and Phillip Little (Lauren)

Her granddaughter, Candance (Candi) Little

Eight great-grandchildren

Four great-great-grandchildren

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ozy Mooney; sons, Kim and Timothy Mooney; granddaughter, Sabrina Riggins; son-in-law, James (Jimmy) Little; five sisters, and three brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 26, 2024, at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham, with Pastor Rick Yow officiating. Burial will follow at Person Memorial Cemetery in Roxboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
