Jack loved his wife, Mary, for 49 years and she was the love of his life.

Jack loved life and his priorities were his love for God, love for his family and his love of anything that involved business management and business law.  He wrote a book titled, “Wise As Serpents” for Christian business people and managers and made several appearances as a guest on Christian TV.  He provided counsel for many business entrepreneurs who were experiencing difficulties during his lifetime.

He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict and served on Eniwetok Atoll in the Pacific during the 1954–1955 hydrogen bomb testing after the conflict was over.

Beginning business at sixteen years old, he sold enough cows and calves to purchase a ¼ interest in a bulldozer and upon graduating high school, he built a construction company with his father.

Jack was also a race car driver after his stint in the Army and won the first ever race held at what is now Ace Speedway.

Over the years, Jack originated, operated, and sold several companies including several housing developments in Virginia.  He and Mary moved back to North Carolina in 1998 to look after his aging parents.

Jack was accredited by the Academy of Professional Consultants & Advisors and spent thirteen years as a Consultant and Officer of Triangle Grading & Paving Inc until retiring at the age of eighty-five.  He held a contractor’s license in North Carolina, Virginia, and South Carolina.

Jack was a member of CityGate Church in Burlington where he served and taught financial classes and gave individual financial advice and counseling.
