Alberta Keck Ellington

September 24, 1922 — November 8, 2014

Mrs. Alberta Keck Ellington, 92, of 114 West McAden Street, Graham, NC died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields in Mebane, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Marshall Ellington Sr.; sisters, Marie Amick and husband Theodore, Ann Marsh and husband Eddie, and her parents, John Howard and Ethel Thompson Keck. A native of Alamance County, she graduated from Alexander Wilson High School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She worked at Western Electric and retired from AT&T. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Graham and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She enjoyed many years of volunteer work at Alamance Regional Hospital. She is survived by her sons, Carroll Ellington Jr. and wife Caroline, of Charlotte, and Jim Ellington and wife Libby, of Greensboro; brother, John Keck and wife Ruth, of Graham, four grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday November 15, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Graham with the Rev. Travis Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Graham at 224 N. main St. Graham, NC 27253, the Hospice of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215 or to the Alamance County Rescue Unit at 118 W McAden St, Graham, North Carolina 27253. The family of Mrs. Ellington would like to thank Barbara Heritage and the many friends that helped and the excellent care provided by Hospice of Alamance and to the Alamance County Rescue Unit for their love, help, and looking after things over the many years.
