Aletha Dingee Emerson

February 6, 1926 — January 14, 2018

Mrs. Aletha Thelma Dingee Emerson, 91, of Mebane, NC, passed away on Sunday January 14, 2018 at her residence. A native of Jackson County, MI, she was the daughter of the late Martin Luther and Blanche Ruen Dingee. She was an avid Crafter and she enjoyed all types of needle art. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend to many. Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Aletha Torrez, of Elon; sons, Richard Stanley Emerson II and wife Kathy, of Jackson, MI, Robert Thomas Emerson and wife Kimberly, of Orlando, FL, and Peter William Emerson, of Mebane; grandchildren, Miguel Torrez and wife Theresa, Marrissa Ortiz-Torrez and husband Ramon, Charity Hyliard and husband Dan, Richard Stanley Emerson III and wife Chelsie, and Alyssa Joy Emerson and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Stanley Emerson and brothers, Martin and Theodore Dingee. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday January 19, 2018 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Pastor Steve Duggins officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM on Thursday January 18, 2018 at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane, and other times at the residence of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215. Online condolences may be made at www.mcclurefuneralservice.net
