Alfred Gray Zachary

Alfred Gray Zachary, 84, of Chapel Hill died Tuesday, September 15, 2020. He was a native of Orange County, retired from the University of North Carolina with 22 years of service and a farmer. He was the son of the late Jack and Pearl Tapp Zachary. He was also preceded in death by daughters, Debbie Z. Cook & Angie Brown; brother, Lindley Zachary; sisters, Edith Faulkner, Edna O’Daniel and Carolyn Huffines.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy J. Zachary of the home; son, Tim Zachary(Marie) of Chapel Hill and sister, Peggy Way of Mebane; grandchildren, Jamie Cook(Kurtis Crawford), Ashley Doyle(Michael), Kelin Hiltbold(Matthew), Dylan Cook, Earl Gurganus, Matthew Cook, Robert Gurganus & Timmy Zachary; great grandchildren, Elijah & Gildeon Crawford, Ayden & Aubree Hiltbold, Caylee & James Cook.
