Allan Joseph Benderson

Mr. Allan Joseph Benderson, 81, of Mebane, NC, formerly of Buffalo, NY. passed away on Friday January 18, 2019 at his residence. A native of Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Nathan and Gertrude Simon Benderson. Allen moved from Albany, NY to Buffalo in 1977. After retiring in 1996, he and Mary moved to Florida before spending the last 11 years in Mebane, NC. Allan enjoyed traveling with his wife and family especially when it came to their trips across Europe and the cruises they took. Allan was an avid Buffalo Bills Football fan. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Ellen Benderson, of the home; his loving daughter, Anne B. Cheever and husband Nathan, of California; his sons, Mark Benderson, of the home, Jeffrey Benderson and wife Jaliee, of Buffalo, NY and Nathan Benderson and wife Charlie, of Arizona; his grandchildren, Brandan, Tyler, Jacob, Kaitlin and Drake; sister, Royce Dembo, of Wisconsin; his faithful dog, Abby and other loving family members. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duke Hospice at 4023 North Roxboro Rd. Durham, NC 27704.
