Alma Modlin Kernodle

God has chosen another flower for His garden. Mrs. Alma Modlin Kernodle passed away on July 5, 2016, after many years of declining health. She was born July 28, 1935, to the late Ed and Ida Modlin. Mrs. Kernodle was retired from Dixie Yarns. She enjoyed fishing and gardening. She is survived by her husband, Howard Kernodle of Efland; children, Jr. Kernodle (Rhonda), Wanda Roberson (George), and Barry Kerndole (Dianne). Also surviving are 3 sisters, Ruth Martin (Allie), Judy Allen (Lacy) and Vicky Lynch (Tim); brother, Billy Wayne Modlin (Cookie); 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers Larry and Jim Modlin; sister, JoAnn Robinson (George); 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The service to celebrate Mrs. Kernodle’s life will be held at 11 o’clock Friday morning, July 8, 2016 at McClure Funeral Home chapel in Mebane, with Pastor Jim Florence presiding. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Christian Church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 6 – 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of Jr. and Rhonda Kernodle. Arrangements are under the care of McClure Funeral and Cremation Service of Mebane.
