Alma Cobb Wood

Ms. Alma Corum Cobb Wood, 84, of The Oaks in Burlington, passed away on Friday September 26, 2014 at the Hospice Home of Alamance/Caswell. Ms. Wood was born in Rockingham County, NC to the late Bill and Fannie Courn. She worked at Dan River Mills for 18 years and retired from Burlington Industries where she worked for 20 years. After retirement, Ms. Wood worked as a caregiver for the elderly for 10 years. She was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Haw River. Ms. Wood is survived by her son, Bonnell (Susan) Cobb, of Graham, and four daughters, Norma Murray, of Dallas, TX, Delores (Tom) Robertson, of Gold Canyon, AZ, Rena Joyce (Clinton Jones), of Burlington, and Charlene Wood (Jerry Wagner), of Mt. Olive, NC, 7 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Cobb, brothers, Russell, Raymond, and Haywood Corum, sister, Betty Corum Caudle, and a grandson, Edward Bonnell Cobb Jr. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday September 28, 2014 at Hope Baptist Church in Haw River with the Dr. Frederick Bunts officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the Church, and other times at the residence of her son, Bonnell, at 112 Southwood Ct. Graham, NC 27253. McClure Funeral Service in Graham is assisting the family. The family of Ms. Wood would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Bunts and the congregation of Hope Baptist Church as well as The Oaks of Alamance and the staff at ARMC for all their care and attention during this difficult time. The family would also like to extend special gratitude to Uncle Harold Cobb for his continuing love and support. A special thanks is extended to Ed and Gennie for all they have done. Your love was truly comforting.
