Amanda Ferebee Wilkinson

MEBANE, N.C. - Mrs. Amanda "Bunny" Ferebee Wilkinson, 88, passed away at her home on Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, after 2 years of declining health and 7 weeks of critical illness. She was a native of Davie County, N.C. and was the daughter of the late William F. and Zella Ward Ferebee. She was married to the late Clifton "Cliff" T. Wilkinson for 61 years.Bunny taught school in the Mebane public system for 34 years. Most of those years were spent at E.M. Yoder Elementary School. After retiring, she became a devoted volunteer at Alamance County Hospital and ARMC for 25 years. She was an active member of Mebane United Methodist Church.Her survivors include daughter, Carol W. Robertson and husband Frank; sons, Keith T. Wilkinson and wife Evelyn and Kirk W. Wilkinson. Also surviving are grandchildren, Blair Robertson and wife Stephanie, Brooke Robertson, Chad Wilkinson and Alanna Wilkinson. Her surviving siblings are brothers, William W. Ferebee and Joseph B. Ferebee; sisters, Polly F. Simpson, Katherine F. Loudermilk, Lue F. Bailey and Maxine F. Pruett.She was preceded in death by her brothers, John F. Ferebee and Thomas W. Ferebee; sisters, Virginia F. Harris and Carolyn F. Holt.The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23rd, from 2 until 3 p.m. at McClure Funeral Service in Mebane, 1308 S. Third St., Mebane, NC 27302. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 3 p.m. in the McClure Funeral Chapel.
