Anita "Jean" Fraser Little, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, at the age of 101 in Alamance Co., North Carolina. Born on July 11, 1924, in Cherokee Co., Iowa, Jean was a beacon of light and joy to all who knew her. Jean's early years were spent in the heartland of America, where she was raised by her loving parents, Robert and Petra Pederson Fraser. She grew up alongside her siblings, Betty, Bessie, Annie, Chuck, and Paul, all of whom she adored. Her formative years were filled with the warmth of family and the strong values that would guide her throughout her life. Jean proudly served her country during World War II as a secretary in the US Army, attaining the rank of sergeant. Her dedication to her nation was a testament to her strength of character and her commitment to service. Following her time in the service, she attended a local Business College. Following her military service, Jean embarked on a career with Burlington Industries, where she worked for many years as a secretary at the Mayfair Plant. Her work ethic and dedication were evident to all who worked with her, and she made lasting friendships that she cherished throughout her life. Jean's faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a devoted member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Burlington. Her involvement with the church extended beyond worship as she engaged in numerous volunteer activities, touching the lives of many within the community. Family was the cornerstone of Jean's life, and she was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband, Harold Dwight Little. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter. Jean's legacy lives on through her daughter, Jamie Little Simons, and her husband Jerome; her grandson, Jason Simons; and her great-grandchildren, Alanna "Simon" Simons and Sam Simons. Her nieces, nephews, and extended family members also held a special place in her heart. She was also preceded in death by her loving granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Simons McCoy who she loved with all her heart. Jean's interests were as vibrant as her personality. She had a passion for gardening, and her laughter was a familiar and comforting sound to those around her. Her smile was infectious, and she had the unique ability to light up a room with her presence. She had a Love for cooking and always enjoyed eating a meal with family and friends. As we remember Anita "Jean" Fraser Little, we celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with service, love, and joy. Her spirit and the memories she created will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Jean's journey on earth may have come to a close, but her influence will continue to be felt for generations to come. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday November 13, 2025, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastors Mick Raynor and Josh Abraham officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors alongside her late husband at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel UMC at 2331 Lavista Dr. Burlington, NC 27215.
