Ann Carolyn Tillman Sharpe

Mrs. Ann Carolyn Tillman Sharpe, 82, of Venie Street, Burlington, NC passed away on Friday November 11, 2016 at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. A native of Alamance County, NC she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Emma Kinney Tillman. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She was a proud and devoted member of Grove Park Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher and volunteer. She also volunteered for numerous years with disabled children when she and her family lived in Cocoa Florida. While in Florida, she was a member and Sunday School Teacher at King Street Baptist Church which she loved dearly. She was involved in prison ministries here in NC and she enjoyed trips with her husband and sons across the country and the Carolina Mountains. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jerry L. Sharpe, of the home; sons, Stephen Sharpe and wife Kim, of Gibsonville, Michael Sharpe and wife Lorri, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Kenneth Sharpe and wife Susan, of Lorton, VA; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Doris Mitchell-Kimrey and infant sister, Annie Mae; brothers, Carl, Luke, Richard and Maurice Tillman. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday November 14, 2016 at Grove Park Baptist Church with the Pastor David Morton and her son, US Army Chaplain Kenneth Sharpe officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:45 until 1:45 prior to the service on Monday at the Church. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
