Anna Nicks Pickard, 98, went home to be with her Lord on December 30, 2021.  Until her death she remained in her home, always cared for and surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Alamance County on August 11,1923 to late Jesse Graham Nicks and Donnie Payne Nicks and was the wife of the late Thomas M Pickard Sr.  She was a graduate of Alexander Wilson High School and worked for Kaiser Roth Hosiery, Colonial Pre School, Memorial Hospital and ARMC Daycare, truly loving the toddlers in her care as if they were her very own. Anna was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventists Church attending as long as her health permitted.  Kind, generous, authentic, gracious, without judgement, humble and loving are just words used to describe this humble servant.

Survivors include her 5 children, Linda Pickard Curtiss (Ocala, FL), Sherri Pickard (Wilmington), Pat Pickard (Semora), Ronald Pickard (Kyle, Gibsonville),and Donald Pickard (Suzi, Gibsonville); her 5 grandchildren Jeff Curtiss, Cregg Pickard, Jason Pickard, Blake and Billy Pickard; her 3 great grandchildren, Baeden, Kess , and Keira; her sister, Rebecca “Becky” Nicks Lisk, her loving dog, Pipe and many nieces and nephews.  A special thank you to the “Why Nots” softball team for sharing so many precious memories with “momma Pickard.”

In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was preceded in death by son, Thomas “Buddy” Pickard, Jr, brother, J.G. Nicks, Jr, sister Mary Remishofsky, and son in law, Bob Curtiss.

The funeral will be held at McClure Funeral Service in Graham on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm followed by burial at Graham Memorial Park.  The family will receive visitors from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
