Annie Ruth Dodson

Annie Ruth Thompson Dodson, 92, passed away on October 29, 2014 at the Alamance Health Care Center in Burlington after several months of failing health. She was born March 12, 1922. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Will Thompson and Bessie Rice Thompson. She was married to the late Melvin “Mutt” Dodson for 47 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Mebane. Annie is survived by two sons, Melvin Dodson and his wife Terry of Burlington, Billy Dodson and his wife Becky of Broadway, one brother, Glen Thompson of Elon, grandchildren; Greg Dodson (Amy) of Haw River, Wendi Dillon (Howard) of Virginia Beach, April Sykes (Jeff) of Burlington, Beth Mullenburg (Chris) of Apex, Andy Dodson of Warrenton, Tina Smith (Mark) of Burlington, Susan Dunlap (Ronnie) of Moncure and 13 great grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Sunday November 2, 2014 at 3:00pm in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Mebane officiated by the Rev. Odell Link. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 2-3 and at other times at the home of her son Melvin in Burlington.
