Archie Burgh

Graham––Archie Burgh, 80, passed away peacefully at Alamance Regional Medical Center on June 15, 2015 following a brief illness. Archie leaves his wife of 55 years, Faye Burgh, his son, Theodore Burgh and his wife Ann, four daughters: Constance Alston and her husband, Elder Isaac; Elizabeth Bennett and her husband, Derek; Felicia Ellington and her husband, Brad; Monica Burgh and her Fiancé Greg Surgeon; and 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.; niece and nephew, Gloria Jean and Wallace McIver; special friends, Ray and Debbie Womack, of Burlington, and Nazlah Love-Arthur and family. After spending his youth in Montrose, PA, Archie volunteered for the Marine Corp and served his country in the Korean War. Shortly after, he moved to New York, where he met Faye Everett. They soon married and migrated to Graham, North Carolina to raise their family. Working as a manager for Womack General Electric Supply Company in Burlington, NC, he tirelessly assisted numerous customers for over 30 years. Archie’s passion and willingness to serve others helped him to make lifelong friends wherever he went. Archie was an avid sports fan. Whenever possible, he actively supported his children and grandchildren in any sport they played, He was also a very zealous Duke Blue Devils and Washington Redskins fan. Archie touched the lives of all who knew him. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 18, 2015 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel In Graham with the Rev. Rodney Foxx officiating. Burial will follow in Children’s Chapel United Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at McClure Funeral Home in Graham, and other times at the residence of the family. Public viewing will be open from 12:00 until 5:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
