Arlayne Freida (Ziegler) Vogel

Mom loved her mother who cared for her after losing her father at a young age. He was submariner in the late 1910s.

Mom loved her husband Don, her high school sweetheart, to whom she was married for 67 years.  They were devoted partners, supporting each other throughout their life together.

Mom loved her sons and their wives, Matt and Andy to whom she was devoted and their wives Jane and Rachel who made a difference in lives they touched.

Mom loved her grandson Ben, spending many hours with him through high school and beyond.  She was very proud when he graduated from UNC Chapel Hill.  Though she, herself, was a Duke basketball fan.

Mom loved traveling, both all over America and all the continents except for Antarctica,  she decorated her house with treasures she brought back.

Mom set up many canoeing and fishing trips for her boys: husband, sons and grandson.

In her younger years she enjoyed her friends and a good game of bridge.

Mom loved a good meal that she did not have to cook, though she cooked well back when she did cook.

Mom had a strong group of care givers headed by her friend April, her daughter Ana, Maddie and the dedicated care givers at Mebane Ridge Assisted living.
