Arthur "Butch" Pleasant Knight

Mr. Arthur “Butch” Pleasant Knight,75, passed away at his residence Tuesday September 9th, surrounded by his loving family. Butch was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to all. He was dedicated to his family and his work. He served at Long Beverage Company as sales manager for 43 years. It was said Long Beverage Company would not be where it is today without his dedicated service. He is survived by his wife, Mae Enroughty; two sons- Kenneth Knight and wife Elizabeth, Kirk Knight; four step daughters- Debbie, Gail, Boojum, and Kim; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and sister- Virginia Ann Dodson. He was preceded in death by his parents- Willie and Mary Knight; son- Kevin Knight; two brothers- Thomas Knight and Larry Knight; and two sisters- Pat Ashley and Mary Frances Howard. A service will be conducted on Friday September 12th at 11:30 at McClure Funeral Chapel in Mebane. Officiating will be Chaplain David Fox. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00- 11:30 prior to the service at McClure Funeral Service in Mebane and other times at the home.
