Aubrey Whitfeild Ivey

CHAPEL HILL - Aubrey Whitfield Ivey, 96, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.Aubrey was born in Orange County. He was a retired dairy farmer and was a member of Cane Creek Baptist Church. He also served his country proudly during World War II in the U.S. Army. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and honorary family members.He was predeceased by his wife, Alice Walker Lloyd Ivey; parents, Ed and Mary Ellen Whitfield Ivey; siblings, Alice Lloyd, Audrey Allen, Bertie Lloyd, Effie Fowler, Hildred Ivey, Hubert Ivey, Jesse Grubb, Lonie Pickard, Martha Ivey, Millard Ivey, Myrtle Ivey and Willie Edna Rigsbee.A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at Cane Creek Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. David John Hailey. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until 2 p.m. prior to the service.Arrangements are entrusted to McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Graham.
