Audrey Patterson Summerell

Mrs. Audrey Patterson Summerell, 85, of 608 North Third Street, Mebane, NC passed away on Wednesday June 22, 2016 at her residence. A native of Orange County, NC she was the daughter of the late C.E. Patterson and Mary Fitch Patterson. She loved the Lord and her family dearly and always worried about others before herself. Mrs. Summerell was devoted to her Church, serving 40 years at Grace Bible Fellowship Church. She worked for 50 years in childcare, opening her home to many children from around the area which she enjoyed every day. She was known for being more than a mother, she was a caregiver to everyone she could help. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra S. Crutchfield (Dale), of Graham and her son, Moody Lee Roy Summerell II (Kimberley Elizabeth), of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Christopher D. Crutchfield (Tessa), Stephen E. Summerell, Kimberly A. Summerell, Kyle Summerell, Nickalas W. Summerell, Dustin L. Summerell, and Frederick Dortmann III; great granddaughter, Izzabella Crutchfield; sister, Mary Catherine Neighbors, of Hillsborough; brothers, Charlie T. Patterson, of Burlington, William T. “Tom” Patterson, of Mebane, C.E. “Ed” Patterson Jr. (Shirley), of Burlington and George M. Patterson (Judy), of Mebane and many loving nieces, nephews and other extended family members. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Moody Lee Roy Summerell; sisters, Rachel Lankford and Rebecca “Becky” Parrish and brother, Vance A. Patterson. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday June 26, 2016 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Rev. Ken Harman officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Saturday June 25, 2016 at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane.
