Barbara Jean Currie

Mrs. Barbara Jean Currie, 87, of Pittsboro, NC passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Barbara was born in Kearny, New Jersey to the late Edgar and Maybelle Coates Smith. Mrs. Currie worked as an office manager and then moved to being an administrative assistant for Logistics Supply. Barbara enjoyed many things in life, in her spare time she would paint ceramics, play cards, spend time with her dog, Vinny, and always looked forward to her trips to Atlantic City. The one thing that brought her the most joy above all else was her family. She loved them and the time they spent together, cooking a meal to bring everyone together as often as she could.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Currie.

Mrs. Currie is survived by her daughter, Donna Bruno; her son, Jack Currie; her grandchildren, Lisa Guidone (Ronnie), Melissa Ashley (Chance), Robert “Robbie” Hawkins (Patricia), Tara Kight (Matt), Stacey Stathakis (Andrew), and Kelly Bruno; and her great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Troy, Quinn, Brody, Ryan, Shea, and Adam.

A service will be held to celebrate the life of Mrs. Currie at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Thursday, October 26, 2023, beginning at 12:00PM. A visitation will be held for the family to receive friends an hour prior to the service.
