Barbara Burton Wells

Barbara Burton Wells, 79 of Mebane passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022. She was a native of Guilford County, retired from Lowes Foods (Byrds Foods) and a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church of Mebane. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a good friend to many. She is the daughter of the late Herbert and Marceline Lester Burton.

She is survived by her husband, James Wells of the home; children, Brian and Jennifer Wells of Graham, Alicia and Chris McCann of Mebane, Ashley and Jacob Hartley of Wake Forest; siblings, Johnny Burton of Sneads Ferry, Jerry and Bob Phillips of Greensboro, Jacky and Mark Dowd of Burlington, Janice Burton of Greensboro; grandchildren, Morgan McCann, Riley McCann, Alaina Hartley, Silas Hartley, Micah Hartley, Jack Wells, Piper Hartley, Quinn Hartley and Selah Hartley.

A service to celebrate her life will be 11:00 AM Wednesday October 5 at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church By Pastor Kate Harper and Pastor Willie Teague. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Cross Roads Presbyterian Church, 3302 NHC 119, Mebane, NC 27302.
