Bernis Michael "Bun" Dodson

Mebane Bernis Michael "Bun" Dodson, Sr., 83 of Mebane died Tuesday, January 31 at the Hospice Home. He was a native of Orange County, Retired from Carolina Koury Hosiery, a member of Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church and US Army veteran. He was also a long term Hospice Flea Market volunteer, was a member of the Burlington and Hillsborough Moose Lodge for 48 years where he served as Governor, Past Governor, Administrator, Legion of the Moose, Ritual Team and was NC Moose of the Year. He is survived by his wife, RoseAnn Tulecki Dodson; son, Michael “Mike” Dodson and wife Lisa; daughter, Angie West; grandchildren, Andy Dodson and wife Heather, Stephanie Foster and husband Alan, Michael Jerrell, Crystal Jerrell, David Sparks and wife Shannon; great grandchildren, Bobby Dodson and Mary Dodson; sister, Carolyn Hicks; brother in law, Jimmy Drum and wife Peggy and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Drum Dodson; parents, Lonnie Brown and Ella Caroline Dodson sisters, Vera Crawford, Marie Thompson, Katie Ivey; brothers, Vernon “Bill” Dodson and Tyson “Whitey” Dodson. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Friday at Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church by Rev. Pam Gilliam. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane 6:00 – 8:00 Thursday evening, other times at the residence.
