Bettie Lucille Brower

Bettie Lucille Brower, age 100, of Mebane, NC, passed through the Veil and into Paradise to be with Jesus on April 4, 2025, from her Westhampton Apt.  She was born 17 Jan 1925 to Frank John Mangold and Irene L. Dendler Mangold in Quincy, IL.  She was a member of the 1943 graduating class of Quincy Senior High School.  She married Leonard Casten Brower on 25 Dec 1941.  He died in 1962. While raising her two children, and working part-time jobs, she was employed full-time at Gardner Denver Co. in the Time Study and Numerical Control Departments for 20 years, retiring in 1987.  Bettie then moved to NC to be near her two children.  She was employed and worked as an assistant to the president of Brame Speciality Co. off and on for about 4 years. While in Quincy, Bettie joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints which happily changed her life completely.  She worked in the church library assisting those researching their relatives.  While in Quincy she worked for a number of weeks at the St. Louis Temple.  Bettie worked a number of weeks at the Washington D.C. Temple. Bettie is survived by her son, Leonard John Brower and his wife Shelia Brower, and daughter Karen Irene Benedict and her husband Brian Benedict, eight grandchildren, Lennie Jo Brower, Suzette Webb and her husband Steve Webb, Deborah Pegram, David Benedict, Jennifer Benedict, Samuel Benedict all of North Carolina, and Paul Benedict of Nevada, L.J. Brower of Boston and a stepgrandson, Frank Powell.  Four nephews, Robert L. Otto (Carol) of New Mexico, Norman Mangold (Ralee), Richard Mangold, Bryan Mangold all of Oklahoma, along with many great grandchildren.  Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Leroy and Frank E. Mangold, a sister Shirley Otto and her brother in-law Robert Otto. A graveside service for Bettie will be held at 2pm on Wednesday April 9, 2025 in Mebane Memorial Garden.
