Betty Brown Metcalf Knighten

Betty Knighten, 95, passed away on June 29, 2019 at The Oaks of Alamance.  She was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Dora Rabb Metcalf.  She was a member of Bible Wesleyan Church in Snow Camp.

Survivors include her daughters; Elaine Williamson (Jerry) of Haw River and Rhonda Seelmeyer of Las Vegas, son; Stephen Knighten (Karen) of Burlington and her sister Johnnie Moorefield of Burlington.  She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Knighten, three sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11am on July 1, 2019 in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Graham.  The family will receive friends from 10am-11am on Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell 914 Chapel Hill, Rd. Burlington, NC 27215. The family would like to thank the staff of The Oaks of Alamance for the care and love they provided “Miss Betty” over the last ten years.
