Betty Sue Norris

Betty Sue Norris, 87, went home to heaven on February 13, 2025. A native of Alamance County, she was married to the love of her life, the late Donald Lee Norris. She was the daughter of the late Fannie Hinshaw Shook and the late Harry Shook Sr. Sue’s family was her greatest joy. Just ask anyone who had ever talked with her. You could not meet a prouder grandmother or great-grandmother who never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was a phenomenal cook and loved nothing more than having her entire family together for any occasion. While she loved a party, wedding, or any special occasion, she also loved the everyday activities and did not miss them. She received the nickname "Go-Go Granny" later in life because she went to all of the grandchildren’s events and activities. Some of her favorite things included: babies; dogs; sausage balls with punch; a new church outfit; taping her bangs; dancing; and the beach. She leaves her legacy behind in her three children: David and Cindy Dixon, Duane and Tina Norris, and Dee and Mark Harrison; six grandchildren: Josh Dixon, Amber Norris, Caitlin Brooks (Grant Brooks), Adam Norris (Teighla Norris), John Harrison (Meredith Harrison), and Jack Harrison (Lauren Harrison); nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and all of her great-granddogs. A service will be held at McClure Funeral Home in Graham on February 17, 2025, starting at 2:00 pm, followed by a visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Staley Memorial Baptist Church, 1446 N Graham Hopedale Road, Burlington, NC 27217.
