Ms. Beulah “Sue” Stout Williams, 72, of Graham, NC passed away on January 31, 2024, at her residence. She was born on April 20, 1951, in Alamance Co. NC to the late Willis Hampton Stout and Nannie Emiline Rickman Stout. Early in her life Sue worked in the textile industry and later worked in the Health Care field retiring after 40 years of service. She will forever be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She will truly be missed by all those who knew her and those whose lives she touched. Survivors include her loving children, Gordon “Ricky” Cates Jr. (Patsy) and family, Robert “Cotton” Cates (Judy) and family, Keith Cates (Jennifer) and family, and Wesley Cates (Cindy) and family; her sister, Elaine Strickland; her brothers, Steve Stout, and Marvin Stout (Susan); 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 adopted grandson, and 6 great granddaughters and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Melissa Strickland, Bonnie Walker, Laurena Thompson, and Adell Sweney; a brother, John ‘Bunk” Stout and a loving granddaughter, Chelsea Miranda Cates. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday February 4, 2024, at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church with the pastor Kevin Barbour officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Cliff UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Saturday February 3, 2024, at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham and other times at the residence of Keith and Coty Cates. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC or to the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church at 109 Webster Rd. Graham, NC. The family would like to express their appreciation to the special family members and friends for their help and assistance during their time of need. A big appreciation to the AuthoraCare Hospice in Alamance County for their services.
