Billie Ann Prater Shoe

GRAHAM - Mrs. Billie Ann Prater Shoe, 83, of Thompson Mill Rd., Graham, NC, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 4, 2013, at the Alamance Health Care Center in Burlington. She was the daughter of the late Jerry M. and Lucille Blanchard Prater. Mrs. Shoe was a member of Bible Wesleyan Church and had previously sat on the board of directors for Eldercare of Alamance.Survivors include daughters, Betty Ann Shoe Owens and husband Kenneth, of Graham, and Wanda Lee Shoe Herion and husband Danny, of Henderson, NC; sister, Hattie P. Ritter and husband Bill, of Graham; two grandchildren, Kenny Owens and Angie H. Garrett; two great grandchildren, Jeffrey Garrett and Emily Garrett. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gurney Ross Shoe; daughter, Jane Louise Shoe; son, Wilton Allen Shoe; grandson, Andrew Herion; sister, Agatha P. Andrews; and brother, Elwood "Buddy" Prater.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 Wednesday August 7, 2013, at the Bible Wesleyan Church in Graham, NC, with burial to follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Brian Covert. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham, and other times at the residence of the daughter, Betty Owens.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bible Wesleyan Church at 106 Moores Chapel Cemetery Road, Graham, NC 27253.
