Billy "Bill" Allen Kirby

Billy “Bill” Allen Kirby Jr., 77, of Prospect Hill went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 28, 2026. He was born on July 30, 1948, to the late Billy and Dorine Kirby. Bill spent his life working as a tobacco farmer and as a rural mail carrier part time in Efland where he worked for 20 years.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Belinda Kay Kirby; his brothers, Lloyd Kirby and Thomas (Dinky) Kirby; and his son, Kenneth (Kenny) Kirby.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristy Kirby Sheppard (Kevin); his son, Allen W. Kirby of Balsam Grove, NC; his grandchildren, Tiffany Baize (Bubba), Brittany Luker (Trevor), Jeremy Sheppard, Bayleigh Kirby, and Logan Kirby; his great grandchildren, Mark, John, and Audrey Baize, Brooklyn and Bethany Luker, Kaezleigh Sheppard, and Kahlani Wade; his sisters, Jane McGee, Mary Foster, Jo Catherine Carter (Jack), Diane Evans, and Connie Cassidy (Danny); his brother, Jerry Kirby of Mebane; his brother and sister in law, Larry and Pam Modlin of Efland; and many nieces and nephews, adopted grandchildren, and a ton of friends and family.

A graveside service will be held to honor his life on Monday, March 30, 2026, beginning at 3:30pm at the Kirby Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends following in the home.
