Bobbie J. Hamby went to her heavenly home on May 26, 2024, at the Hospice Home in Burlington, North Carolina. A long-time resident of Graham, North Carolina, she leaves behind a rich legacy through her family and her faith.She is survived by her two sons, Bobby Hamby Jr. (Jeanetta Hamby) of Reidsville and Jerry Hamby of Graham, her sisters, Rosaline Bush and Judy Carol Gerringer, many step-siblings, as well as her grandchildren, Christine Stone (Andy Stone), Holly Stout (Greg Stout), and Tabatha Brown (Kyle Brown). She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren.Mrs. Hamby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobby Ronald Hamby Sr., her mother, Katie Sutton, her father, Charles Toney Sr, and siblings, Mary Ruth Gates, Charles Toney Jr., and David Sutton.Bobbie was a devout Christian who dedicated her life to teaching God's Word, notably through her work as a Sunday School teacher at West Burlington Church of God, where she was a devoted member for many years. She led many to the Lord and guided them to follow His will with reverence and Godly fear.A talented and creative soul, Bobbie was a published songwriter of hymns and a poet, sharing her works generously. She also imparted her musical talents by teaching others to play the piano and organ and singing in her gospel group, “Gospel Tones”. Bobbie Hamby was a Godly woman whose deeds in faith and love will continue to be a pillar of strength for her family and all who knew and loved her."I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." - Timothy 4:7. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 3pm in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Graham. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2pm-3pm at the funeral home.
