Bonnie Barnes McKamey

Bonnie Barnes McKamey, age 77, of Graham, North Carolina, passed away on July 2, 2026, in the county where she was born and spent her life surrounded by the people and places she loved. Born on December 3, 1948, in Alamance Co. NC, she was the daughter of Charlie and Sallie Barnes. Bonnie carried with her throughout her life the values of kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength that were rooted in her family and reflected in the way she cared for others. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend whose presence brought comfort and warmth to those around her. Bonnie was preceded in death by her loving daughter, Shannon McKamey, and by her parents, Charlie and Sallie Barnes. Their memories remained close to her heart, and she held her family bonds with deep devotion. She is survived by her brother, Richard Lee Barnes, and her niece, Tracy Lane Crea, and husband Frank, who will cherish her memory and the many moments they shared with her over the years. Bonnie lived a life marked by simple joys and meaningful connections. She loved going to the beach, where she found peace and happiness in the sound of the waves and the beauty of the shoreline. She also enjoyed reading, music, and spending time talking with her friends and family. These interests reflected her gentle spirit and her appreciation for the comfort found in conversation, companionship, and the small pleasures of everyday life.

A burial of her cremains will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday July 14, 2026 at the Gibsonville City Cemetery.
