Brenda Gail Cheek Barber

Brenda Gail Cheek Barber, 77, of Whitsett, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Born in Elkin, NC, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Cheek and Ruth Rogers. Brenda was a loving wife, aunt, and sister.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, Leroy Rogers; and her sisters, Jeanette McAdams and Virginia Franklin.

She is survived by her husband, Carlton Eric Barber of the home; her nieces, Billie Barber (Harmon) of Elon, Melissa Porter of Graham, and Lisa Lones of Florida; her nephew, Barney Lones of Burlington; many great nieces and nephews; her brother’s-in-law, Chris Barber of McLeansville and Gary Barber of Burlington; and her sister-in-law, Lisa Shelton (Barry) of Gibsonville.

A service will be held at Springwood Presbyterian Church at a later date. The family requests that those attending the service come in casual attire.
