Cardella Gwynn (Cross) Porter

Cardella Gwynn Cross Wade Porter, 87, of Burlington passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Authoracare Hospice in Burlington.  Cardella was born in Caswell County to Lindsay Franklin and Emma Ezell Arnold Cross both deceased. She retired from the Textile Industry and worked as ABSS crossing guard until her health would not let her. She was also a member Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.

Cardella is preceded in death by: a son, Larry Keith Wade, granddaughter, Cristy Wade Satterfield, Step - grandson, Daniel Huffines, Jr., daughters in law, Lisa Carol Wade and Rita Mansfield Wade. Sister, Shelby Jean Hatch. Brothers, Ervin Cross and Michael Cross.

She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Wade (Donna), Haw River. Brodie “Jr” Wade, Donald Wade and Frankie Wade “(Patty) all of Burlington. Grandchildren; Misty, Amy, Jennifer, Jacob, Aric, and Trinity. Great-Grandchildren; Brittany, Peyton, Jonathon, Bellamy, Dalton, Sawyer, Isaiah, Bryson, Hayden, Zealand, Ezri, and Lillie. One Great-Great Granddaughter- Alaina

Four Step Grandchildren, Eight Step-Great-Grandchildren

Sisters- Virginia Gammon, Kay Hatch (Aubrey), Fay Grizzle, Wilma Maness (Steve)

Brothers- Roy Cross (Linda), Robert Cross (Sue) and Junior Cross (Helen).

Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A funeral service will be on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Mitchell and Rev. Tommy Bright. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Friday, May 23, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at the residence of Ronnie and Donna Wade.

Pallbearers: Austin Andrews, Bryson Coltrane, Dalton Mattingly, Erik Mattingly, Aric Rolfe, David Satterfield, Jonathon Shatterly, Jacob Wade.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff  of Authoracare Hospice for their exceptional care of our Mom. Also the family would like to extend their appreciation  to her Family who helped with her care especially Misty Wade.
