Graham Carl Dewey Roach, 100, of Graham died Sunday, March 13 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Haw River, born March 1, 1916 to the late Clarence and Nonie Phillips Roach. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Ruth Smith Roach; second wife, Doris Roach; son, Carl “Buck” Roach; daughter, Anne Roach Greeson and seven sisters. He retired from Burlington Industries Williamsburg plant, was a US Army veteran of WWII and was of the Baptist faith. He was also an avid golfer until 2012 when health issues forced him to stop playing. He is survived by his sons, Bobby and Mary Roach of Burlington, George and Linda Roach of Haw River, Joel and Joan Roach of Mebane, Jerry and Kathy Roach of Saxapahaw; daughters, Carolyn and Connie Wheeley of Mebane, Betty and Billy Ford of Graham, Donna Kay Darr of Spencer; daughter in law, Sadie Roach of Burlington; son in law, Wayne Greeson of Jamestown; Twenty one grandchildren, forty two great grandchildren and twenty two great great grandchildren. A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by Bishop Keith Stanley. Burial with military honors will follow in Haw River cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:30 – 2:00 before the service. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
