Carolyn Buffaloe

Carolyn Stewart Buffaloe, 94, passed away on August 21, 2022, at Bayview Nursing and Rehab in New Bern, NC. Born July 8, 1928, in Mebane, NC, she spent most of her childhood in the Piedmont area. She graduated from Catawba College in 1949. After her marriage to William Buffaloe, the couple moved to Lumberton, NC, where she taught English for more than fifteen years. Carolyn loved antiques and enjoyed working in an antique shop after retiring from teaching. She is survived by her daughters, Rebecca Lee and Kimberly Teague (Barry); grandchildren, Alice Lee, Corban Teague (Caroline), and Bethany Teague; her sister, Sara Ann Holt; and a niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Finley and Elsie Stewart; husband, William Buffaloe; son-in-law, G. Robert Lee; and a grandson, Hamilton Lee. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery, Mebane, NC. The service will be officiated by her son-in-law, Pastor Barry Teague.
